Driving Growth Through User Activation
Curve
Curve struggled with a high dropout rate due to stringent security requirements and the inherent complexity of its financial product. To address this, I partnered with the product team to pinpoint and streamline the user experience, then worked with leadership and the business team to redefine our plan structure. After several iterations, initially sacrificing activation rates for foundational improvements, we shifted our focus to activation, ultimately surpassing our key metrics and exceeding original goals.

From Snowflakes to Scalability: Building a Unified Design System
Curve
When I joined Curve, our product suffered from snowflake screens, which was lacking coherence, consistency, and scalability. Development was inefficient, and the user experience was fragmented. Recognizing the need for a robust foundation, I took ownership of the design system despite having no dedicated resources. By integrating OS-specific behaviors and weaving in our brand identity, I consolidated complex financial features into a streamlined, self-maintaining framework. Within six months, we reduced design debt by 40%, decreased development time by 25%, and significantly boosted customer satisfaction. This unified design system now ensures consistent user experiences, faster iteration cycles, and accessible interfaces across the entire app.

First-of-Its-Kind Payment Automation: A 0-to-1 Journey
Curve
Curve acts as a merchant, enabling transactions to be automatically routed to different cards based on merchant type, MCC code, amount, and location, an unprecedented concept in the market. I led the feature’s definition, prioritizing user-centered design by exploring payment mental models and simplifying the setup process. Through extensive research, testing, and iteration, I developed intuitive flows for this groundbreaking feature, which successfully launched to market.

Bixby: AI Assistant
Samsung
I was part of the core team that built Samsung’s AI-powered assistant from the ground up for the Galaxy S8, now reaching millions of devices worldwide. Working with AI engineers and designers across multiple time zones, I defined conversation flows that boosted first-time command success rates and streamlined error recovery.

By crafting over 40,000 utterances, I enabled Bixby to interpret nuanced, multi-app tasks such as “Send Dad photos from Tokyo and say I love you.” This meticulous scenario mapping ensured a seamless experience across smartphones, wearables, and smart TVs, laying the foundation for an intuitive and globally scalable virtual assistant.

Conversation Redesign: Streamlining the Communication Experience
Samsung
As the Lead Product Designer for the communication experience, I recognized that user behavior was shifting from text-only to multimedia messages, making our current interaction flow cumbersome. By conducting competitor analyses, user log research, and usability testing, I discovered lengthy workflows, disconnected journeys, and scattered navigation. Working closely with PMs, researchers, and engineers, I reimagined the Messages experience—reducing the attachment process from six steps to two, integrating camera and gallery shortcuts, enhancing previews, and adding a built-in web browser. These improvements not only streamlined messaging but also set an industry standard, influencing how many modern platforms handle multimedia sharing.
